Gateway to LUNAR

The title Gateway to LUNAR is powerful. It is inviting and intriguing. Some in the know will associate it with NASA's proposed Gateway lunar space station. This generates excitement and a feeling that you are entering a domain reserved for astronauts. The presentation with the backdrops of stunning art, the small teases of symphonic sounds, the overlays of sheet music and inclusion of poetry promises a learning experience like none other. From the start, I felt that I was in safe hands, almost as if my guide and teacher were here in my own room. I loved 'meeting' the professional and creative team (and the touch of playfulness with the lucky peanuts!) The presentation is communicated in a welcoming, easy to understand and relaxed way. The message is clear: The solar system moons are awesome celestial bodies. Gateway to LUNAR will inspire learners with diverse interests to go on this exceptional journey of exploration.

I successfully voyaged through the LUNAR Gateway, propelled by THE MOONS SYMPHONY. Those Moons spoke through Amanda’s notes with enchanting poetry and scientific grounding. Amanda is a wonderful visual spokesperson whose genuine enthusiasm, knowledge, and clarity of vision elevate the learning experience to something of an Overview Experience. Her astral-holographic imagination expands education to the realms of edutainment … and GATEWAY to LUNAR left me inspired and wanting more.

This GATEWAY is an excellent introduction to what learners will be encountering in the LUNAR Home Education Program as they embark upon their cinematic and very informative journey to the moons of the outer solar system. Rather than just giving a brief overview of the who, what, why, when and where of this lunar adventure, Amanda skillfully shows the learner who is involved with the creation of the program’s content and why their work matters. She explains how their contributions to the various NASA missions gave us what we now know about these moons and then further explains how and why she took this core science to create THE MOONS SYMPHONY. The learner is able to see how LUNAR is an extension of this symphonic work and is given the opportunity to learn about each moon from a variety of scientific and artistic angles. Through Amanda’s engaging videos and excellent narration, the learner is immersed not only in the science of these moons but also in the orchestral music and the beautiful artistry which gives life and emotion to each moon individually. In this GATEWAY, Amanda sets the stage for these lunar journeys with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. She shares a wealth of knowledge in a very easy-to-understand format that can only come from a teacher who truly cares about the music, the course content, and about each learner as they begin their treks. By the end of the GATEWAY, the learner knows what to expect from the program and is assured that the entire LUNAR program will be fun and exciting. They also get to meet Zinnie the cat who will occasionally be joining them on their treks! The videos where we get to meet the scientists and astronauts bring added authenticity and definition to the GATEWAY as the learner discovers that the program will provide a real depth of knowledge about each mission and moon. The quick story of the lucky peanuts is awesome as it brings added humor and gives even more context about what to expect! This GATEWAY is definitely a 5-star introduction to what is sure to be an amazing educational program!
